A word from the maker :
What is Black Drawing Salve?
Inspired by Amish Black Drawing Salve, this uptake is every bit as good as its original counterpart.
Black Drawing Salve has been used by the Amish people for centuries and grew in popularity throughout the US in the 1800’s, for its ability to draw out foreign bodies, impurities, and toxins from underneath the skin. In more recent times it’s made a bit of a comeback, and it’s easy to see why. We’ve been testing this extensively at home and around town, with great success, and it’s become a go-to in our home for all sorts of minor skin issues.
Recipes vary from family to family, but generally the main ingredients are an infusion of botanical oils of comfrey, calendula, and plantain, activated charcoal (where it gets it’s signature black colour from), and bentonite clay. We’ve added vitamin E, shea butter, and essential oils of tea tree, lemon myrtle, and helichrysum to ours, to reduce infection and promote healing.
It’s a handy product to keep on-hand at home, in the first aid kit, and in your handbag or nappy bag, and can be used to draw out foreign bodies, venom, toxins, particles, and impurities from beneath the skins surface. Suitable for both people and pets of all ages, we’re pretty sure you’ll be glad you have this on-hand when you need it!
Uses
For use drawing out foreign bodies, venom, toxins, impurities, and pus from under the skin.
Splinters, glass shards, insect bites, bee and wasp stings, thorns, prickles, boils, cysts, pustules, ulcers, ingrown hair and nails, and some minor infections, etc
Some have also reportedly used it for skin tags, sunburn, eczema, and psoriasis, although we’re not sure about the effectiveness of it in these areas.
How to use
Simply smear or apply a pea-sized amount (or larger if needed) of Black Drawing Salve onto the affected area, and secure with a band-aid, bandage etc.
Leave on overnight or for several hours and rinse off with tepid water. The culprit will hopefully have come out in the salve, which will be discarded. If the culprit is still present, repeat application. If problem persists consider consulting your chosen medical professional.
