Highlands Gin 200ml by Glen Gowrie Distillery

A note from the maker :

“Back in 2007, when this Gin was first formulated, it was the only Australian gin based on potato spirit. This was our first Gin and to many it represents classic Glen Gowrie Distillery flavours. We originally named this Snoddy’s Gin, named after Susie Snodgrass, the wife of the distiller. Susie still has a taste of each batch, for quality control purposes 🙂 Snoddy’s Gin was renamed Highlands Gin in 2014 when we moved from Dorrigo to Glen Innes.

This Gin contains the botanicals juniper, orange peel, coriander seed, fresh ginger root, cloves and fresh bay leaves. This gin is a symphony of flavours that dance on the palate, juniper and orange predominate. Earthy undertones of bay and clove add depth and complexity, creating a smooth and well-rounded gin that is clean and crisp. Enjoy it simply with a quality tonic, plenty of ice and a slice of lemon or orange. This classic combination accentuates the gin’s vibrant flavours, allowing you to savour its refreshing profile.

On occasion, depending upon the source of our orange, this gin may appear cloudy. This feature means greater flavour, but does not affect the quality of your drinking experience.

This gin has recently been rebadged to accentuate our connections with the Glen Innes Highlands. We use, with Council approval, the Glen Innes Tartan with symbolic colours of;
Light blue – for the clear daytime of New England,
Royal blue – for the sapphires for which the New England is renowned,
Dark blue – for the night skies in which the Southern Cross is prominent,
Red – for the Celtic blood links, and
White – fidelity with the Celtic symbolism and traditions.
